The first step in our approach is to meet with the key creative decision makers on the production. We have an exchange of ideas and talk about the concepts that will drive the show. We talk to the artists to gain an understanding of what they want to achieve visually and discuss how we can turn their ideas into reality.
We also talk to the video suppliers, set designers and technical teams to work out exactly what format the video needs to be supplied in, and what unique demands this places on the design of the video.
Next, we research and design a production book that presents a series of concepts based on our meeting. These concepts can be linked to songs, or be freestanding themes. We then deliver the production books to each member of the creative decision-making group.
After review, we refine these looks to our client’s specifications and deliver a preliminary budget. Our budget is completely transparent and inclusive of all fees related to each piece. We give a separate budget for EACH proposed element. This gives our partners the most flexible way to proceed; by allowing them to choose the parts they want and best match their resources.
Then we design and execute the concepts we’ve discussed with you. This normally involves shooting original material. It often also includes editing existing material, licensing footage or commissioning other artists. Kosher Pixels will send sample movies throughout the production process to ensure the client’s vision is being accurately translated.
We arrive at rehearsals with portable online edit suites and experienced operators. We edit the material to work exactly in sync with the live versions of the tracks being played. We colour-correct and format the material to make it work for LED screens and projection.
Often, video looks will incorporate live cameras, screen moves and other elements. We build the appropriate systems to make this happen and co-ordinate the relevant touring crew. We also examine the flow of video from the playback server to the screens, and build the best possible system for a coordinated and easily reproducible show. We stay on tour through the first few productions to make sure the touring personnel feel completely confident in running the show.
Kosher Pixels believes this method provides the live music industry with the best system to produce highly creative video and film pieces. It ensures we stay within budget and delivers exactly what our partners want.
